Don't Compromise... Fight!

The Lord had promised the Israelites the Promised Land, yet, the Israelites still had to march into the Promised Land and claim it for themselves. They had to fight for it.

We cannot just sit around and wait for God to drop His providence on out lap. This is all part of the lesson in patience. Wait on the Lord and fight for His promise.

However, this is what usually happens: As we wait for the Lord of His promise, we become impatient and try to resolve His promise ourselves. As a result, we compromised on His promise and miss out on His full blessings. God's promise is perfect, and because of His love for us, it is not in His will for us to receive a watered-down version of His promise. But it also does not mean we sit waiting and do nothing.

Just like the way He called the Israelites, the Lord wants us to fight for His promise. He wants us to rely on Him, obey Him, and fight to claim His promise for us.

Matthew 13:44"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
45"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.

God's promise is like finding a hidden treasure or fine pearls. Would you sit around and do nothing? Or compromise on this great treasure? Or would you go to lengths to fight and claim this promise?

Enough sitting and compromising... I think I know what I must do to claim His promise for me. ;)
